Ration card application status shows how far your new card, member addition or correction has moved, and you track it with the acknowledgement or application number you got when the form was submitted. Every state tracks it on its own portal or service centre site, so the number on your receipt decides where you look.

What each stage means

How to track ration card application status without the receipt
How to track ration card status when the acknowledgement is lost is a common worry, since most tracking pages need that number. Try these, in order.
- Search the phone's messages for the department name or the word acknowledgement.
- Go back to the centre that filed the form. Service centres keep a record of every application they submit.
- Some portals allow a login with the mobile number used in the form and list your applications there.
- Failing all that, the rationing office can look the form up from the applicant's Aadhaar.
When the application is stuck
Field checks and approvals take weeks in most states, and longer during a large drive. If the stage has not changed for a long time, first make sure no document is pending. Then visit the office named in the remark with your receipt. Keep in mind that some states add new names only when places are free within their NFSA limit, which can hold applications back.

After approval: get the card
Approval does not always mean the card reaches you on paper. Download the e-card from the state portal, check every name and show the number to your shop dealer, who should see it on the ePoS machine. If spellings are wrong, request a correction at once. Members then need to finish eKYC before grain is issued in their name.

How to check ration card application status for a new card online?
Use the acknowledgement number on the tracking page of your state, listed in the table above. The result shows whether the new card is pending, approved or rejected.
Can I track ration card application status by mobile number?
Only a few portals allow it, by letting you log in with the mobile used in the form. Most states need the acknowledgement or application number.
Can I check ration card application status with Aadhaar number?
Usually not for applications. Aadhaar helps find an approved card, but a pending form is tracked by its acknowledgement number. The supply office can search by Aadhaar if you lost the receipt.
Where can I download the ration card acknowledgement?
The acknowledgement appears right after you submit the form; save it then. Service centres can reprint it from their system, and some portals show it again after login.
What is the usual waiting time for approval?
No fixed period applies; the state and the inspector's visit decide it, and several weeks is common. Track the stage rather than counting days, and follow up when a remark asks for action.
My application shows approved, but the card is not in the list. Why?
Data takes time to reach the public list and the shop. Give it about a week, then look at the village ration card list and ask the dealer.
