Ration card status Delhi checks happen on two official sites: a new application or a member addition is tracked on e-District Delhi with the application number, while an existing card is confirmed on the NFS Delhi portal by searching the card number or your fair price shop's list. Neither check costs anything.
Since Delhi started accepting fresh ration card applications again, many households are watching their e-District accounts closely. Others want to know why rations stopped, or whether their card survived the recent review of beneficiaries. This guide covers both groups, explains the verification stages in Delhi, and lists who to contact. The full set of Delhi pages is on our Delhi ration card hub.

e District Delhi ration card status for new applications
All new ration cards and additions of members in Delhi are now handled online through e-District. Your application moves through these hands:
- Food and Supply Officer (FSO): checks documents and may send an inspector to your home.
- Assistant Commissioner: examines the files the FSO has verified.
- District level committee: gives the final yes or no for the district.
The status on e-District tells you which of these stages your file has reached. The exact words differ, but phrases like pending with FSO, under verification, approved and rejected are common.
Old applications returned for resubmission
The department has returned older pending applications to the applicants' e-District accounts. Each one now needs resubmitting together with a Family Income Certificate from the local revenue office. If your old application seems to have vanished, this is likely why.
Open that section, attach the income certificate and any updated documents, and submit again. Until you do, the application will not move. Our Delhi apply online guide lists the documents.
Check whether an existing Delhi ration card is active
Holders of an older card can confirm it still exists on NFS Delhi.
- Open nfs.delhi.gov.in and go to the citizen section.
- Search by ration card number, or choose your circle and shop to see the FPS-wise card list.
- If your card appears with your family's names, it is on record.
- If it does not appear, it may have been cancelled during the review of ineligible cards, or shifted to another shop.
NFS Delhi can be slow or refuse to connect. Give it another go after some time, or check through the Mera Ration app with the card number.
Delhi ration card status check by Aadhaar card
NFS Delhi mainly searches by card number or shop, not Aadhaar. If you only have Aadhaar, three options work:
- Give your fingerprint at your shop's ePoS machine; the dealer can see the card linked to your Aadhaar.
- Use the Mera Ration app, which lets you look up details.
- Visit the circle FSO office carrying the family head's Aadhaar.
What each result means and what to do
| Status or result | Meaning | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Pending for Submission | The form is in your account but not submitted | Log in, add the income certificate, submit |
| Under verification | FSO or inspector is checking | Keep originals ready, pick up when the inspector phones |
| Approved | Card sanctioned | Download the card from your e-District account |
| Rejected | Not eligible or papers not in order | Read the reason; ask the FSO office whether you can apply again |
| Card not found on NFS | Cancelled or wrong number | Visit the circle office with all members' Aadhaar |
