Ration card correction online lets you fix a misspelt name, a wrong age, a relation or an old address through your state's food portal or an authorised service centre, with a document that proves the right detail. After an inspector or supply officer approves it, the corrected card shows on the portal and on the shop machine.

Ration card address change online
Address change is the most asked for update. Within the same district, many portals take it online with a fresh address proof, and the card may move to the fair price shop nearest your new home. Moving to another district or state is handled as a transfer instead, explained in ration card transfer.
Name correction, name change and other edits
Any ration card edit online starts the same way. A spelling fix makes the card match Aadhaar. A real change of name, for example after marriage, needs the marriage certificate or a gazette notice in some states. Most eKYC failures come from small spelling gaps, so correcting names also helps with ration card eKYC.
Type the name exactly as printed on Aadhaar, including middle names and initials, and do not add titles like Smt or Shri.
Ration card update status after you apply
Each request gets a number. Karnataka shows it under Amendment Requests Status, Tamil Nadu inside the smart card login, and other states on the same page used for new applications. Our application status guide covers where to look.
A rejected request carries a short note, most often wanting a sharper scan or details that agree with Aadhaar. Fix that and apply again, since a rejection rarely blocks a second request.
Fingerprint and biometric updates
People often search for a ration card fingerprint update, but the ration portal does not store fingerprints. Your print at the shop is compared with the UIDAI record, which means repeated failures call for a biometric update at an Aadhaar enrolment centre. Then try eKYC at the shop again.

Where is my ration card address change or correction status shown?
Use the request number on the status page of your state portal. In Karnataka look under Amendment Requests Status; elsewhere the general application tracking page usually works.
Can I do an e ration card name correction online?
Yes, in states with an amendment service, such as Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. You need Aadhaar or another document showing the correct spelling.
Where can I get a ration card correction form PDF?
States that still use paper keep the form at the supply office and sometimes on the portal. Our ration card form download page lists the sources.
Will my ration stop while a correction is pending?
Usually no. The card stays active and the shop keeps issuing grain while the change is checked.
When does the ration card download show the correction?
Once the request shows approved, open the card on the state portal again and save a fresh copy. Check that the change appears before you discard the old printout.
