Quick steps
- Open e-Services on the Ahara portalGo to ahara.karnataka.gov.in and tap e-Services in the top menu. On a phone the menu hides behind the three line button at the top.
- Choose Show Ration CardUnder the heading e-Ration Card, tap Show Ration Card. Some pages call the same service RC services with self printing.
- Pick the region for your districtThree links appear: Bangalore Region, Mysore Region and Kalaburagi Region. Open the one that covers your district. If your district is missing, go back and try the next link.
- Enter the RC number and verify the OTPFill in the RC number with no spaces, ask for an OTP, and key in the six digit code that lands on the household's registered phone.
- Save or print the cardYour household details load in one page: family head, each member and the card category. Pick Print from the browser menu, then Save as PDF; the file sits in your downloads folder for later.

For a ration card Karnataka families can download and print at home, open the Ahara portal at ahara.karnataka.gov.in, go to e-Services, choose Show Ration Card under the e-Ration Card heading and pick the region link for your district. Enter the RC number, type in the one time code from the family's linked phone, and the card opens on screen, ready to save as a PDF or print.
Many people still type the old address ahara.kar.nic.in from memory or from an old printout. That address no longer opens at all, so do not think the service is down; the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department now runs everything from the karnataka.gov.in address. Ration card download Karnataka: what to have ready
- The RC number. Look near the top of the old laminated card, or on any earlier Ahara printout. Lost the paper? Your fair price shop dealer can look the number up in the shop register.
- The mobile number linked to the card. The OTP goes only to that number, not to whatever phone you are holding.
- Your district name. This decides which of the three region servers you open.
- A phone or computer with a PDF reader if you want to keep a copy.
Why ahara.kar.nic.in ration card download no longer opens
Old videos, posters at photocopy shops and saved bookmarks still point to ahara.kar.nic.in. That address has been retired and gives a site not found error. The same department services, with the same menu names, now sit at ahara.karnataka.gov.in. Update the bookmark on your phone and tell elders in the family, because many of them think the service has stopped when the old link fails.
Bangalore, Mysore and Kalaburagi region servers
Karnataka splits its ration card database across three region servers. Every e-Ration Card, e-Status and correction service asks you to pick one first. Bengaluru families use the Bangalore Region link, Mysuru families use the Mysore Region link, and families in Kalaburagi district use the Kalaburagi Region link. Other districts are grouped under one of these three. After you open a region, the district drop down shows only its own districts, so a missing district simply means you need the next link.
When one region is slow, the others may still work fine. That is normal: each server has its own load. If a page keeps timing out, come back before office hours begin or after dinner.

A clear printout of this page is accepted by most offices that ask for a ration card copy. If a name or category looks wrong, fix it before using the copy for another scheme.

Karnataka ration card types: PHH, AAY and NPHH
The state issues three kinds of card. PHH is the priority household card that people call BPL. AAY is the Antyodaya card for the poorest families. NPHH is the non priority card, commonly called APL. PHH and AAY are covered under the National Food Security Act and also carry the state's Anna Bhagya benefit. All three appear the same way in the Show Ration Card result, with the type printed near the top. Searches for an NPHH ration card in Karnataka lead to the same download steps above. People sometimes look for Karnataka ration card images or a sample before they apply; the printout from Show Ration Card is the real format, so use your own copy rather than a template from an unknown site.

Other ways to get a printed copy
If you cannot manage the OTP at home, an operator at a common service centre or a government citizen service centre can open the same e-Services page for you; the centre may take a modest charge for its time. The fair price shop dealer can confirm your RC number and members on the POS machine but usually cannot print the full card. Is ahara.kar.nic.in still the site for ration card download in Karnataka?
No. The old address does not open anymore. Use ahara.karnataka.gov.in, which has the same e-Services menu.
How to download ration card online in Karnataka if I only know my Aadhaar number?
The Show Ration Card page asks for the RC number with an OTP. If you know only your Aadhaar number, the fair price shop dealer can find your RC number from the POS machine, and then you can download as usual.
Can I get the ration card download Karnataka PDF in Kannada?
Ahara offers Kannada and English; the toggle sits in the header strip. Change it before you open e-Services and many labels show in Kannada; member names appear as stored in the database.
Which region should I pick for my district?
Bengaluru districts are on the Bangalore Region server, Mysuru on the Mysore Region server and Kalaburagi on the Kalaburagi Region server. If your district is not in the list after you open a region, go back and try another one.
Is there an official app for the Karnataka ration card?

Is the online e ration card valid at the ration shop?
Your ration is given after Aadhaar checks on the POS machine, so the shop does not need the paper card. The printout is mainly for offices and schemes that ask for a ration card copy.
