You can download ration card by Aadhaar number on most state food portals, because almost every family card in India is now seeded with the Aadhaar of its members. You type the twelve digit number, confirm a one time password on the mobile linked to that Aadhaar, and your family card opens on screen with a print or PDF option.
No single all India button exists for this. Before you try to download ration card by Aadhaar number
The Aadhaar search only works when your Aadhaar was seeded into the family card at the ration office or the shop. If you gave Aadhaar copies during the last card verification or did fingerprint eKYC at the shop machine, it is almost surely seeded.
- Any listed member's Aadhaar works; the head's number is not required. Every member leads back to one family card.
- Keep the phone that is linked to that Aadhaar in your hand. Many state sites send the OTP there and not to the mobile on the ration card.

How states handle the Aadhaar search
Each state builds its own screen, so the route changes. These examples show the pattern.

Ration card status with Aadhaar on the Mera Ration app
The central Mera Ration app has a Know Your Entitlement option where you can enter either the ration card number or an Aadhaar number. It shows the card number, the grain due to your family and recent transactions at the shop. This is a quick ration card online check with an Aadhaar card when the state portal is slow.

Check ration card status by Aadhaar card number
People often ask whether a new application can be tracked by Aadhaar. Some state portals allow it, others want the acknowledgement number from the receipt. If you applied recently, the request may be pending with the inspector, so the Aadhaar search returns nothing yet. Ration card Aadhaar link online and seeding
If the search says Aadhaar not seeded, you need to link it first. A few states have an online seeding form on their food portal, but in most places the shop dealer does it on the fingerprint machine, or the supply office updates it after you submit copies. Ask the dealer to check the member list on the machine; it shows which members have Aadhaar linked.
Once linking is done, wait a few days before trying the aadhar card to ration card download again, because the central and state records update in batches.

Questions people ask
Is aadhar card se ration card download possible in every state?
Not in every state. Many portals accept Aadhaar, some only accept the ration card number or a family record number. Try Aadhaar first, and if it is not offered, use the card number from the shop.
Which Aadhaar should I use, mine or the head of family's?
Any member whose Aadhaar is seeded will lead to the same card. Use the one whose mobile number you have, since the OTP goes there.
Can I check ration card status with Aadhaar number without OTP?
Some state report pages show basic details without OTP, but full card downloads usually need it. The Mera Ration app can show entitlement with only the number on some versions.
Will the e ration card download by Aadhaar number be accepted at the shop?
The dealer checks your fingerprint or face on the machine, not the paper. The downloaded copy is still useful as proof of your card number and members.
How do I link ration card with Aadhaar card online?
Look for an Aadhaar seeding menu on your state portal. If there is none, hand a copy of each member's Aadhaar to your shop dealer or the block office and do eKYC at the shop.
What if the ration card download aadhar number search shows another family?
That means an Aadhaar was wrongly seeded to another card. Report it at the block supply office with your Aadhaar and card copies so they can correct it.
