Open Department of Food and Public DistributionOfficial site, opens in a new tab
For a Mera ration card download, get the Mera Ration app through your phone's app store; it is the central app of the Department of Food and Public Distribution, built by the National Informatics Centre for families holding cards under the food security law. Inside it you can see your card details, monthly entitlement and transaction history, find fair price shops near you even in another state, and file a grievance.
The app does not replace your state food portal. The state still issues and changes the card, and the printable e-card comes from the state site. This page explains every main screen of the app, the separate eKYC app, and what to do if login fails. Other download routes are listed on our home page.

What you can do with the Mera Ration app
| Screen | What it shows or does |
|---|---|
| Ration card details | Card number, category, members and home shop |
| Know Your Entitlement | Monthly grain due to your card under the national law |
| Nearby ration shops | Fair price shops close to your location, useful after moving |
| Transaction history | When and how much grain was lifted against your card, and at which shop |
| ONORC information | How portability works and who can use it |
| Grievance | Submit a complaint about a shop or your card and track its reply |
Menu names can change between versions. The first version also offered migration registration and an Aadhaar seeding check, so look for those if your copy still shows them. If a screen is missing, update the app first.
Mera ration card download inside the app: what you actually get
The app shows your card number, category, members and home shop, but the central help notes for the app say nothing about a card PDF you can download. States decide what the official printable copy looks like. For a PDF that offices accept, use your state portal through our download by Aadhaar guide or our mobile number guide. Think of the app as a quick way to see your Mera ration card online details from your pocket.
Mera Ration 2.0 and the separate eKYC app
The current version, often searched as ration card 2.0 app download, is a viewing and complaint tool. Member eKYC is not done inside it. For eKYC without a fingerprint machine, states that allow face authentication use a separate Mera eKYC app together with the Aadhaar face authentication service app.
- Install the Mera eKYC app and the Aadhaar face service app, checking that both come from government publishers.
- Enter the member's Aadhaar and verify the OTP.
- Keep your face straight in front of the camera in daylight and blink when asked.
- Wait for the success message; the status updates on the state side after some time.
If face eKYC fails, the shop's fingerprint machine is still available. Our ration card eKYC guide lists both routes. State specific eKYC drives are covered on our Maharashtra eKYC page, Telangana eKYC page, Uttarakhand eKYC page and Rajasthan eKYC page.
Using the app when you move to another state
Under One Nation One Ration Card, a worker who has moved can take grain at any shop in India with a fingerprint or face check. The app helps you find the nearest shop in the new town and lists each lifting made on your card. Family members who stayed behind keep collecting their part from the usual shop. Our transfer and portability guide covers the full process, including when you should move the card for good.

Questions people ask

Yes, it is the central app of the food department for NFSA card holders. Your state may also have its own app, and both can be used together.
Which is the 1 nation ration card app download for migrant workers?
Mera Ration is the app built for One Nation One Ration Card. It shows nearby shops anywhere in India along with your entitlement and transaction history.
Can I do ration card e kyc online in the app?
Face eKYC is done in the separate Mera eKYC app along with the Aadhaar face service app, in states that have switched it on. Otherwise use the fingerprint machine at any ration shop.

Where can I complain if the app shows wrong entitlement?
Use the grievance option in the app, call the national portability helpline 14445 or your state's food helpline, and report it to the supply office with your card number.
