Quick steps
- Go to Ahara e-ServicesOpen ahara.karnataka.gov.in and choose e-Services. Old bookmarks to ahara.kar.nic.in will fail, since that domain was shut down.
- Find the e-Status boxScroll past e-Ration Card until you reach e-Status. It holds New/Existing RC Request Status, Amendment Requests Status and DBT Status.
- Tap your region under the right lineEach status line has Bangalore, Mysore and Kalaburagi links. Use the one for your district, the same region you chose when applying.
- Enter the number and submitKey in the acknowledgement number from the slip or SMS. For DBT, the RC number is asked instead. Press Go or Submit and read the result line.

To see your ration card status Karnataka offers a free e-Status section on the Ahara e-Services page: choose New/Existing RC Request Status, tap the region that serves your district and type the acknowledgement number from your application slip. The answer line says if the taluk food office has the file pending, approved or rejected.
Two more status lines sit right below it. Amendment Requests Status follows a change you asked for, for example adding a grandchild or fixing a spelling of the father's name. DBT Status shows whether the cash part of the state benefit has been sent to the family's bank account. This guide covers all three, plus what each answer means. Numbers that work on the Karnataka e-Status page
The status tool looks up one number at a time. Which one depends on what you are tracking:
- New card request: the acknowledgement number printed on the slip given at the time of applying. It also comes by SMS to the phone given on the form.
- Amendment request: the acknowledgement of that change, not the card number.
- DBT payment: your RC number, plus the month you want to see.

Ahara ration card status for amendments
Added a newborn, removed a member who died, or corrected a spelling? Those go through the amendment servers, and the result lives under Amendment Requests Status. The flow is identical: region, then acknowledgement number. Once the change is approved, download the card again so your printout shows the new member list. DBT status and ration lifting status
Under e-Status, the DBT Status link shows whether the cash portion of the state food benefit was credited for a given month and to which account. If it shows failed, the usual cause is a bank account not linked with Aadhaar, or the account belonging to someone who is no longer head of family.
A separate link under e-Ration Card, Show Ration lifting status, records if anyone collected that month's grain against your RC number. If it shows lifted but your family got nothing, raise it through Registration of Denial of Ration on the same e-Services page.
Karnataka ration card details by RC number
Sometimes a family only wants proof that the card is live and lists everyone. For that, use Show Ration Card under e-Ration Card with the RC number and OTP. If the card does not appear at all, check Show Cancelled / Suspended list; cards are suspended when ration is not drawn for a long stretch or when eKYC stays incomplete. Ration card status Karnataka stuck or rejected
- Stuck for over a month: visit the taluk food office with the acknowledgement slip. The case worker can see notes that the public page does not show.
- Rejected for income or land: the household may still qualify for an APL card. Our BPL ration card Karnataka page explains the line between the two.
- Page will not load: one region server may be down while others work. Try again later in the day.
Online ration card Karnataka check versus other states
Karnataka's status tool only covers Karnataka cards, and it does not ask for any login or password. If a relative holds a card in another state, our ration card status guide for all states lists each state's tool. For help over the phone, the toll free number is printed on the Ahara home page, and the NFSA list of state helplines repeats it. Keep your acknowledgement number in front of you before you dial, because the call centre asks for it first.
Questions people ask
How to check ration card status in Karnataka without the acknowledgement number?
The e-Status page needs that number. Look for the SMS that came after you applied, or ask the centre that filed it. If neither works, the taluk food office can search by applicant name and Aadhaar.
Can I check Karnataka ration card status by mobile number?
The public e-Status page does not search by mobile number. The mobile is used for OTP and SMS alerts only. Use the acknowledgement or RC number instead.
Does the old ahara kar nic in ration card status link work anymore?
No. That domain no longer opens. The same status lines now live under e-Services on ahara.karnataka.gov.in.
My status says approved. Where is my card?
Approval allots an RC number. Open Show Ration Card on e-Services, enter that number, verify the OTP and print. There is no separate courier.
What is the ration card status Bangalore residents should use?
Families in Bengaluru choose the Bangalore Region link on every e-Status line. Everything else is the same as for other districts.
Why does DBT status show failed?
Usually the bank account is not seeded with Aadhaar or is closed. Update the bank and Aadhaar link at your bank, then check DBT Status again the following month.
