A ration card address change online Tamilnadu request is filed on tnpds.gov.in: enter through the registered phone's OTP, pick the address change service, fill the new address down to the village, attach a proof, and send it to receive a reference number. After approval the card carries the new address and, where needed, a shop close to it.

Ration card address change online Tamilnadu: same taluk or a new one
Moving within the same street needs only the new door number. Moving to another taluk or district is a transfer: the request moves your card to the new taluk's records and attaches you to a shop there. The new office may do a field check, so make sure someone is at the new home to answer.
If you have moved to another state, do not change the address here. Under One Nation One Ration Card your fingerprint lets you collect rations from a shop in any state. If the move is permanent, you will eventually surrender this card and apply in the new state.
Ration card name correction online in Tamilnadu
A wrong spelling or a wrong date of birth is fixed through the member details correction service after login. The supply office accepts Aadhaar as the reference, so:
- If Aadhaar is correct and the card is wrong, upload the Aadhaar and file the correction.
- If Aadhaar itself is wrong, get Aadhaar updated first at an Aadhaar centre, then correct the card.
- For the Tamil spelling, check it against any Tamil document you have, such as a school certificate.
Changing the registered mobile number
No online TNPDS service opens without that phone's OTP, so a dead SIM has to be replaced on the card before anything else. Where the old phone still works, the update can be made online after login. Where it does not, the update needs a visit: bring the plastic card plus the head's Aadhaar to e-Sevai or the TSO. After the change, SMS for every shop purchase goes to the new number.
Changing the family head
The head of the family is shown with a photo on the smart card. A change is needed after the head's death, or when the family decides another adult woman should be head. File the family head change request after login, upload the new head's photo and, for a death, the death certificate. Ration card fingerprint update in Tamil Nadu
There is no fingerprint update service on TNPDS. The shop's PoS machine matches your finger with the Aadhaar record. When that match keeps failing:
- Try other fingers, and clean and dry the hands before trying.
- Ask the salesman about other members of the family collecting the ration.
- Get a biometric update done where Aadhaar enrolment happens. This usually fixes worn prints in older people.
