- Load the HEPDS portalVisit epds.haryanafood.gov.in. Give it a few seconds, as the SMART-PDS screen builds after the page opens.
- Pick the ration card searchIn the citizen area choose the option to search a ration card. It is commonly labelled Search Ration Card.
- Fill in the PPP number and captchaType the Family ID without spaces, copy the captcha letters, and submit.
- Verify the OTPEnter the code sent by SMS. If it does not arrive in two minutes, request it again once.

Ration card download by Family ID is the normal route in Haryana: the PPP number on your Parivar Pehchan Patra is what the HEPDS portal asks for, and an OTP to the family's registered phone unlocks the card. You do not need the RC number or a separate login.

Why ration card download by Family ID works in Haryana
Haryana built its welfare schemes on the Parivar Pehchan Patra. Each family gets one Family ID, and the members, ages, Aadhaar links and verified income all sit in that record. The ration card is drawn from it. That is why the HEPDS search asks for the PPP number and not a ration card form number. One number pulls up the card for the whole family.
People also search for terms like PPP Haryana ration card or PPP ration card download. They all mean the same thing: get the food card using the Family ID.
Forgot the Family ID? Find it first
- Open the Meri Parivar portal.
- Look for the option to know or find your Family ID. It usually asks for the Aadhaar number of any member.
- An OTP goes to the phone linked with that Aadhaar or the Family ID.
- Note the Family ID that appears and use it on HEPDS.
If nothing comes up, the family may never have registered. Visit an Atal Seva Kendra or a common service centre with the Aadhaar of all members to register.
What you get after the download
The card copy shows the details that the depot also sees:
- ration card number and category such as AAY or BPL
- head of family and the list of members with age or relation
- the depot or fair price shop where your family is tagged
- the card state, active or otherwise
Compare the members with the Family ID. A name on the Family ID but not on the card usually means the sync has not happened yet or the member was added after the card was made. For a deeper look at each field, see checking Haryana card status and RC details.
PPP Haryana login and the ration card
Some people expect to log in to the Family ID site and download the ration card there. The Family ID portal manages the family record, while the card itself is shown on the food department's HEPDS site. You may log in on the Family ID site to check income, members and phone number, then go to HEPDS for the card. Keeping both correct is the best way to avoid surprises at the depot.
Problems with the Family ID download

Other states using a family number
West Bengal and a few other states also use family or household numbers for checks, but their portals and rules are different. A Haryana Family ID will not open a card in another state. Does the Family ID also give a ration card status check in Haryana?
Yes. The same HEPDS search that gives the download also shows the card category and whether it is active. See the Haryana status page for what each field means.
Family ID se ration card download kaise kare?

Is the PPP the same as the ration card?
No. The Parivar Pehchan Patra is the family record for many schemes. The ration card is one benefit drawn from it, shown on the food department's portal.
My Family ID shows all members but the card shows fewer. Why?
New members take time to flow to the ration card, and some may need eKYC at the depot. Wait some days after adding them, then check again. If still missing, ask the block food office.
Can I download without the OTP?
No. The OTP protects your family data. Ask the depot dealer to pull up your family on his ePoS device if you cannot get the OTP.
