Open HEPDS ration card searchOfficial site, opens in a new tab
For a ration card online check Haryana families open the HEPDS card search, enter their Family ID and read the card status, category and member names that come up after the OTP. That screen answers the usual worry: is our card still active, and is it BPL or something else.
One extra step makes the picture complete. In Haryana the category is set by the verified income in your Family ID, so a status check has two halves: the card on the food portal and the income on the family record. Both are covered below. The main Haryana ration card page has all other services.

What the ration card online check Haryana screen tells you
| Field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Ration card number | The RC number the depot uses for your family. Write it down for the Mera Ration app and for portability. |
| Card category | AAY or BPL (PHH) for NFSA families. Other words mean a state or non priority card. |
| Head of family | NFSA prefers the senior most woman of the house |
| Members | Each person allowed to take grain. Count them against your Family ID. |
| Depot or FPS | The ration shop you are tagged to, with the dealer's code |
| Status | Active, or a note that the card is cancelled or under review |
Field names may differ a little on the live portal. Look for these meanings rather than the exact words.
Haryana ration card status depends on Family ID income
The food department does not decide BPL on its own form. It reads the income figure that has been verified in your Parivar Pehchan Patra. When that figure moves, your card can move too: a family can gain a BPL card or lose one without filling anything. That is why two neighbours with similar lives can see different results.
If your card changed suddenly, check the verified income on the Family ID first. A mistake there, such as a salary that ended long ago or land that was sold, should be raised through the Family ID grievance option. Our Haryana BPL card guide explains the process without the jargon.
Other ways to check without the portal
- At the depot. Your depot holder can bring up the card on his handheld and read out the members and this month's quota.
- Mera Ration app. The app run by the Centre lists your quota and past ration drawals. See our Mera Ration app guide.
- Depot list. You can also look for your name in the public list by district and depot, explained on the Haryana list page.
When the status check fails
| What you see | Why | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Family ID not found | A digit typed wrong, or the family is not registered | Re check the number on the Meri Parivar portal |
| No OTP | Old mobile in the Family ID, or network delay | Wait two minutes, then update the mobile in the family record |
| Card shows cancelled | Verified income moved above the BPL range, or a duplicate was found | Check the income, then visit the block food office with documents |
| Member missing | Not in the Family ID, or added recently | Add the member in the Family ID and look again a week or so later |
RC details for eKYC and portability
Once you know your RC number, you can use it beyond Haryana. Under One Nation One Ration Card a member working in another state can take ration at any ePoS shop there with an Aadhaar fingerprint. That only works if the member's eKYC is done. Ask the depot dealer to confirm eKYC for each name on the card while you are there. National steps are on the ration card status page for all states.
