Quick steps
- Register the family in the Family IDEvery member with Aadhaar should be in one Parivar Pehchan Patra. Register at an Atal Seva Kendra, a common service centre or on the Meri Parivar portal.
- Declare income honestlyGive the income of each earning member. The state then verifies it using its own records and field checks.
- Wait for verificationOnce the income is marked verified, the food department reads it. There is nothing to submit to the food office at this point.
- Check the card on HEPDSSearch with the Family ID on epds.haryanafood.gov.in. If the family falls in the BPL range, a BPL (PHH) card should appear.
- Do eKYC at the depotEach member must give a fingerprint at the ration depot for Aadhaar eKYC before the full quota is released.
Open Meri Parivar (Family ID) portalOfficial site, opens in a new tab
A BPL ration card Haryana families get is not applied for on a separate form: the state gives it automatically when the income verified in the family's Family ID falls within the BPL range, and takes it back when that income rises above the range. So the real work is keeping the Family ID record true and up to date.
Below you will see how the verification works in plain words, how to check where your family stands, and what to do if the result looks wrong. The full menu of Haryana card services is on the Haryana ration card page.

How BPL ration card Haryana eligibility is worked out
Haryana does not run a separate BPL survey for ration cards any more. The Family ID system collects the income of every earning member. The state then checks it against records it already holds, such as data from other departments and schemes, and staff verify it where needed. The result is one verified family income.
If that verified income is within the BPL range set by the state, the family is placed in BPL (PHH). The range is fixed by the state government and can change, so we do not quote a figure here. The current rule is published by the department and shown in the Family ID system.
Check your BPL status in two places
| Where | What you learn |
|---|---|
| Meri Parivar portal | Verified family income, list of members, mobile number on record |
| HEPDS card search | Whether a BPL, AAY or other card exists, its members and depot |
| Your ration depot | Whether the card is live on the ePoS machine and what you get this month |
Detailed card checking steps are on the Haryana ration card status guide.
Why a BPL card can be removed
- A member got a job or pension, and the verified income rose above the BPL range.
- Other income or assets showed up in government records linked to a member.
- A member was counted twice, once in your Family ID and once in another.
- Aadhaar or eKYC of the members was not completed for a long time.
Removal is usually automatic, just like the grant. If you think it was a mistake, the record behind it must be corrected first.
Income shown wrong? How to correct it
- Log in on the Meri Parivar portal and check which member's income looks wrong.
- Use the grievance or correction option in the Family ID system and explain the error, for example a job that ended.
- Attach proof such as a relieving letter, a sale deed or a pension stop order.
- Follow the request until it shows resolved. Then check the HEPDS card again after some days.
BPL compared with AAY and other cards
AAY is the poorest group and gets a fixed household quota. BPL in Haryana is the priority household group under NFSA, with grain per member. Families outside both may hold a non priority card. Colour names in local talk, such as a pink or yellow card, do not always match the category on the portal. The national ration card types page explains each group.
Problems families report
| Issue | Likely cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Income verified but no BPL card | Sync delay between Family ID and food portal | Check again after some days, then ask the block food office |
| New baby not on the BPL card | Child not yet added in the Family ID | Add the child with the birth certificate and Aadhaar |
| Card shows a different depot | Address changed in the family record | Request a depot change at the food office |
Questions people ask
Where is the form for a BPL ration card in Haryana?
There is no BPL form. Make sure your family is registered in the Family ID with correct income. When the income is verified within the BPL range, the card is generated. Check it with the Family ID download steps.
What is the income limit for a Haryana BPL card?
The state sets the range and has changed it before. Check the current rule in the Family ID system or with the block food office rather than trusting figures on random websites.
My BPL card was cut. Can I get it back?
Only if the income that caused it was wrong. Correct the income through a Family ID grievance with proof. Once it is verified again within range, the card can return.
Is the BPL list for Haryana public?
The food department publishes depot wise card lists. See our Haryana list page for how to reach them.
Does a BPL card work outside Haryana?
Yes, under One Nation One Ration Card an NFSA card can be used at ePoS shops in other states, after Aadhaar eKYC of the member.
