Who can apply and which category you may get
Any family living in West Bengal without a ration card here can apply. The department, not the applicant, decides the category after checking. Families may be placed in AAY, PHH or SPHH under NFSA, or in RKSY I or RKSY II under the state scheme. You cannot choose a category on the form, though you can later ask for a move to RKSY I with Form 8 if your situation fits.
A person who already has a card in another state should surrender it there first. Duplicate entries are a common reason for rejection.

The WB ration card apply online route suits anyone with a phone, data and a way to scan papers. The online form follows the common application form, with the service picked from a list.
Bangla Sahayata Kendra
The state help desks (see the BSK portal) fill and upload the form for you and print the slip. A small fee may apply for printing at private shops, not at the centre for the form itself.
Duare Sarkar camp
When the camp comes to your ward or gram panchayat, staff take the form and papers at a counter and give a receipt. Camp requests appear on the same status pages.
WB ration card application status after you apply

If the request is returned, read the reason. Most returns are about blurred uploads, a missing surrender slip or a name not matching Aadhaar.
