Eligibility rules for a new ration card Telangana family
Food Security Cards are meant for families below the income and land limits the state sets. Families who pay income tax, own large land holdings or have a government employee usually do not qualify. The exact rules are decided by the department and can change, so the MeeSeva operator or the Civil Supplies office in your mandal is the right place to confirm.
A family already listed on another card should not apply again for the same people. Separating from a parent's card is a different request: the person is first removed from the old card and then included in the new one.

From receipt to card: the approval path
- The application reaches the Civil Supplies system with your reference number.
- A deputy tahsildar or field official of Civil Supplies verifies the family.
- Higher officials approve or reject the request.
- An approved family gets a Food Security Card number and is tagged to a fair price shop.
- The family receives the card, including the new smart ration card where it is being issued.

How to get a smart ration card in Telangana
Plastic smart cards with a QR code are made for families whose Food Security Card is approved. You do not file a separate request for the plastic card. When yours is ready, the dealer or the local office tells you where to collect it. Until then, the FSC number and the EPDS printout work at the shop.

- The same person already on a parent's card. Ask for deletion from the old card first.
